At West Bedford School, we believe 100% of our students can achieve PSP/IPP outcomes in every subject, preparing them to thrive as compassionate, creative, and capable 21st-century citizens.

Mission
We are committed to creating a culture of empathy, belonging, innovation, and high achievement. Rooted in diversity, equity, and inclusion, we empower each learner to reach their full potential through student-centered, universally designed, and socially responsive education. Our goal is to nurture expert learners equipped with the executive functioning skills needed for lifelong success.

Our Guiding Approaches & Pedagogy-  To achieve our vision and mission, we ground our work within the Inclusive Education Policy and implement:

  1. Universal Design for Learning (UDL) with a culturally responsive lens, ensuring multiple pathways for engagement, representation, and expression.
  2. Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) to proactively and responsively meet student needs through collaborative problem-solving and data-informed planning.
  3. Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) to ensure students feel safe, valued, and able to progress academically and emotionally.
  4. Executive Function Skill Building embedding skills such as organization, self-regulation, collaboration, and time management into everyday learning.
  5. Responsive Teaching where educators co-create innovative, personalized learning experiences that meet students where they are in their learning,  bring joy, and challenge all learners.
